2009 and 2010 NEWS
Culp Design was hired for the 4th year to design and produce the Massachusetts College Goal Sunday campaign for 2008-2009.  College Goal Sunday is a non-profit program that provides free information and assistance to Massachusetts families applying for financial assistance for higher education.  Culp Design designed a new game board concept and applied the design to all supporting printed collateral, promotional materials and web a new web site.  Project management was also handled by Culp Design, and included over 75,000 pieces of print buying, and mailing coordination.

Culp Design designed a new web site for Canadian based Pacific Specialty Brands. They are a leading kitchen appliance distributor located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and they offer high-end brands across Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest (including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Colorado and Alaska) of the United States.  Pacific Specialty Brands distribute 10 brand name appliance companies, so the redesign needed to include a strong navigation system.  A fresh design and various photos gallery collections helped round out the redesign.

Anne Heywood contacted Culp Design to redesign her web site that was a few years old.  Anne paints both modern and traditional subjects in realistic yet simple terms, and uses soft pastels as her medium. Her internationally collected paintings and drawings are noted for their strong compositions and natural color palettes. The new design uses a special abstract composition made especially for the site, and incorporates her distinctive signature.  We reorganized all the content as well as added a modern Flash-based portfolio showcasing her many pieces of work.

Culp Design also designed a new sites for Baystate Home Improvement, a new web-based service directory listing for Massachusetts, and for On Target Training, a South Shore Massachusetts certified firearms training company offfering a variety of training programs.

Culp Design just finished designing the print material and web site for the newest business in East Bridgewater, Stardust Gym. The gym is a place for children to climb a rock wall, swing on a trapeze, jump on the air trampoline, play soccer, flag football, gymnastics, and more!  Culp Design helped clean up the logo, design all branded printed collateral and promotional items, as well as develop a full web site.  Please visit the site or read more about Stardust Gym on WickedLocal.com.

The Town of East Bridgewater, MA Department of Public Works hired Culp Design to design a new logo for the department as well as develop a full featured web site. The site design was developed closely with the DPW and needed to function as both a resource of general information for town residents as well as a place the DPW could update the town on new projects and up-to-the-minute issues. An original design was created and then programmed with a Content Management System for easy updates by DPW staff.  The logo was completed last year and the web site went live in September. Culp Design Partner Info Haven Productions assisted with PHP programming.

TheForce.net's redesign of the Fan Art Museum section that I helped build is live!  Very excited.  Also check out the new site and logo I designed for Dean Hall Construction of Bridgewater, MA.

June 2008
It has been about a year since Culp Design has posted any news or updates. The studio has been lucky to very busy, so here is what we have been up to lately...  We have a new logo, check it out above. Special thanks to Andrew at AM Graphix for the design. Most projects have been web based, or have had parts that were web. I am still doing some identity, branding and print work, but the focus on web is noticable for sure.

Culp Design has completed over 14 new web sites this past year, here are some highlights:

  • Culp Design recently completed the website redesign for the Faber Rangehoods United States office in Wayland, MA. The previous site was a few years old and was hard to update and maintain. Most of the site was made up of images of text and that was not good. Culp Design worked closely with Faber to update the design, overhaul the navigation as well as apply some SEO techniques. We also implimented a Flash-based photo gallery to showcase all the wonderful models in some spectacular kitchen settings. The redesign has been a hit and the site has averaged over 300 hits per day since its launch a few months ago. Culp Design Partner, AM Graphix, assisted with Flash programming.

  • Monitouch HMI hired Culp Design to re-design their web site, which went live October 2007. They required a new site design, a navigation overhaul and quite a bit of special technology. A PHP based database system was installed to organize and maintain their database of hardware and software products, which also had the ability to be searchable by visitors to the site. Working with their sales team, a Flash-based banner system was custom made to showcase the 6 major features of their products.  We also installed an online helpdesk for tech support and a mailing list database for the sales team. Culp Design Partners, AM Graphix, assisted with the custom Flash programming, and Info Haven Productions assisted with PHP programming.

  • Culp Design has completed 4 other website redesigns this past year for existing clients.  Culp Design had originally designed the first 3 of these sites about 4 years ago, and all the clients were looking for a fresh, new look as well as new technology options to enhance their sites.

Daedalus Projects: Overall custom Flash programming with a Flash-based photo gallery to showcase projects.  Flash is XML driven so client can make their own updates to written content and photos.
Miller Environmental, Inc.: The new design was combined with an osCommerce shopping cart.
Ronald Wilson Photography: The new design included a Flash-based photo gallery and an osCommerce shopping cart.
Higher Education Assistance Group: Culp Design was hired not only to redesign their web site but to also design a new logo.  We also added a Flash-based slide show to enhance the new site.

All of the houses are to be designed within one period, the Greek Revival and Federal Style, c.1800-1840. The element this style brings forth is the crisp design of the classic elements such as pedimented entrances, columned porches and gable ends. Culp Design tried to capture the flavor for this style in order to compliment the development with the design of the site.

  • Culp Design played an integral part in the design of a major new research study was unveiled by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation at a briefing in downtown Boston on Thursday, June 29, 2006. The study finds most New England states will suffer declines in the percentage of young workers holding Bachelor’s degrees by the year 2020 if current educational and demographic trends continue.  The report, New England 2020: A Forecast of Educational Attainment And Its Implications For The Workforce of New England States, challenges today’s comfortable assumptions about New England’s educational strengths and competitive advantages.
